Hi AI Friends,

I apologize for not posting sooner about the Tidewater Virginia Luncheon but as you all know when we have RA, it thinks it rules our lives and for the last 7 days I have been taking a back seat to RA flares...in my hands and legs.

There where 5 members, from AI, who where suppose to attend our lunch get together but 3 of the members had gotten ill and could not attend. So Lulubele and myself where the only one's who where able to make the lunch date. What a wonderful time we had getting to know each other. Lulubele is a very remarkable person. She has a wonderful sense of humor and manages to keep up with her home, children needs as well as her husband and still manages to find time to enjoy painting, while having to fight everyday not to let RA take it's toll on her.. I walked away from the luncheon not only feeling like I had just made a new friend but how fortunate to have meet a person with an enormous capacity to care. Thank you Lulubele for taking time out of your schedule to spend time with me.

I hope that the our AI members who could not attend the luncheon are feeling much better now. Lulubele and myself where very sorry that we did not get a chance to meet you and have the opportunity to spend some time together. We are hoping we can have another lunch date this December or January...We do hope all Tidewater Va. members may be able to attend that one. If Interested in another lunch get together PM me and we will try to set another lunch date.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving...

I have enclosed a picture.

Lulubele is in the white sweater.

PS:  I think that plant leaf wanted to eat my dinner...LOL.

waddles,

Nice to hear you had a nice time! You both look like you've already known each other for a long time.....:)

I am relatively new to this board and haven't met anyone in my area that writes here. I live in Boston. Do you have any suggestions on how I would meet others from my area?

BTW, you both look very healthy! Keep up the good work. We all need all the support we can get.....thanks!

Thank you for the compliment...Most of the time I feel pretty good but when I have a bad day or days...Look out, a mad bear is about to attack.

I think the best thing to do to find members who are from Boston, is too start a post...with the subject line...."Anyone from Boston"  then type in that you are looking for members who are in or around the Boston area.  If I remember back, there are a few Boston members in here.  I hope you can connect with them.  It's fun meeting people in your area and having something in common with them...Make's having RA or a Auto-Immune disease, much easier to handle.  You may want to try over at the RA Friends site.  Some of the members from AI go over there too.

If there is anything I can do to help you or if you want to just chat,  send me a PM or post on the board.  I come into the board about every 2 days.

You are so right about needing all the support we can handle.  That is why I feel so glad to be part of this group of friends and the friends at Ra Friends site.  They have done more for my spirits than I can begin to describe.

Take care of yourself and I hope to chat with you again.

Toni
