I very occasionally would get "sharp pain" in my upper arm. Thankfully, it doesn't happen often. I would use warm compresses to relieve the pain. How long have you had this?maybe you should go to the doctor about that, they say thats a sign of MS

sleeping on my arm weird, but I'll make sure to tell my doctor.
I've had that problem, off and on, for a long time. For a while I could prevent or relieve it by sleeping with my arms over my head (dunno why that helped) but now I think it was related to the neck problems I wound up having from RA. It might be worth your while to get some x-rays done and talk to your rheumy about whether you ought to see a neurologist.
