Mystical Diets: Paranormal, Spiritual, and Occult Nutrition Practices

by Jack Raso

It's very interesting......
Lynn492009-01-12 10:51:59I'm just finishing one I've been meaning to recommend:  When You Are Engulfed In Flames by David Sedaris.  Shorts stories from his life, hilarious in places, thoughtful in others.  I've read most of his books, never knew how bad his addictions were until this one. I'm reading The ShackSuzanne-

Sedaris book sounds good.

The user review on Amazon.com describes it as debunking specious diet plans and bogus health trends.  I was rather hoping for something more what the title seemed to promise, a look at cults like the modern "vampire" movement, pagan esbat feasts, that sort of thing.  [/QUOTE]

SNOWOWL!!  A woman after my own heart!!

reading Body of Lies

good spy thrilled written by a foreign correspondent through the 70's 80's and 90's... though it is ficitonal...... it is close to truths and accurate to time and place.

How funny. A friend just loaned me that book, unasked, a few days ago. (I just finished reading "What is the What?", a first person true story account of a guy who grew up in war torn Sudan and lived in a refugee camp in Kenya for 10 years (it was really well written), and was about to start that after my brain rested a day or two). I'm glad for the 2nd recommendation. It must be a good time for me to read the Sedaris book. It's an easy read, since it is short stories.  This last part is taking awhile, though, because it is basically his journal while trying to quit smoking.  Most stories are a few pages, but this last story has little chapters (and less humor, more insight, I'd say)  I hope you enjoy it!

Snow, sounds like I might want to read it but will have to wait till I get back to the states.  When we come to Mexico for the winter I have to bring tons of books with me.  Hard to find English books.  The community has a small lending library but I don't think Mystical diets, etc.  will be one of the selections.

I'm reading Anti-Cancer, A New Way of Life by David Servan-Schrieber, M.D. and
Mexican Cooking Techniques by Diane Kennedy.  Not sure what I'll start next, guess whatever looks interesting when I go in search for a new book at the lending library.
I am reading Martina Cole The business. For bedtime reading I am looking at The benefits of Tai Chi . There are some very good exercise programmes in it.
