A quick ride to hell........... | Arthritis Information

Okay, be forewarned....whining coming up.

Had to go off of MTX and Enbrel - It's been 3 weeks without and I can't believe how quickly my body went down hill.

I had to call in sick this morning, because I can't really move.  No way can I drive.  The pain and stiffness is horrible, I am so tired I could sleep for hours on end.

I am just shocked that after 3 weeks there can be a drastic change.

Wah wah wah........
Hi debrakay,

I'm right with you.  I was off of my enbrel and mtx for three weeks and was exactly the same way.  I just started back on.  Here's wishing you relief soon...Hiking_gal

I hear ya debrakay- I thank goodness am not as bad as you but I really so a decline when I had to be off my MTX for 3 weeks. Now I've been back on for 2 and I'm still not feeling great.

How long do you need to be off?

good question....my last antibiotic pill is today.  Does that mean I can take the MTX and Enbrel tomorrow?Oh wow!  How long do you have to be off your ra meds?  Can they give a medrol dosepak or something for the inflammation in the meantime?  Oh Ii have been there, not able to move or drive to work, I thnk we all have and it is torture.  However, my meds just stopped working. I wasn't taken off the enbrel that is.   I hope something is done to help you soon. high dose vitamin C, Sam-e, alfalfa tea used to help take the edge off but nothing is a match for this condition.  Sometimes fasting softens my pain as well.  be sure to drink lots of water and rest, rest, rest.  Get a little sun today if it isn't too cold where you live.  being out on the patio in the sun softened my pain as well.
feel better soon.
Hey Shell,  it's below zero with the wind chill, lol, wish I could be on a patio in the sun!

Thanks for the ideas!
Deb I think you can take it on your next scheduled MTX day. That was what I was told.

Of course I'm only on MTX- I don't know about Enbrel
edited to add my disclaimer Debra,

My rheumy told me not to take my Enbrel until after one week from my last day of taking my antibiotic.  Hope that helps...Hiking_gal
Sorry your sick. I hope you get better real soon.
I have a question: I take plaquenil; if I have to take antobiotic will I have to stop the plaquenil?

Again, sorry you are down and hope you recover quickly.

Tink
Hope you feel better soon.

Nothing works for me better than a hot soak in the tub when I get that all over train wreck feeling. Followed by a nap.

I'm really glad to be in AZ today!
Yep, I know just how you feel. That is how I get when the Remicade is wearing off. That is how I know it is starting to wear off, when I feel like I can sleep for days and just feel icky. And then a week or so later I start to swell worse, and everything hurts and am stiff again.

I hope you find some relief and feel better soon!

Much hugs to you.
Now that's cold!  You must be up North or Midwest.  Thought maybe you were one of the lucky Californians having 80-degree weather.:)  I think Florida is having nice weather now too. but no, you better stay in where it is warm.  The cold can make things feel worse too as Ii am sure you know.
Hope you get some relief soon. Hang in there.
Thanks for the encouragement.  I'm in New Hampshire...cold, cold, cold!  I've had the heat up really high and have been using a microwave heating thing....I'm sure better days are ahead....fingers crossed.
