OT Progesterone | Arthritis Information

 

Anyone here take progesterone?  If so, how's it been for you??  Any bad side effects?what reason would you take it... and how much?

Hi Babs...I'll be taking it to because of the abnormal bleeding (4 months non stop) I've been having.  Pills....10 mgs medroxyprogesterone per day. No estrogen.

I've taken it a couple times for missed periods.  Prior to having kids, I was quite irregular.  I would get maybe 3 or 4 periods a year, at random times.  My gyn gave me medroxyprogesterone tablets (10mg) to take for 5 days (or was it 10? I can't remember now).  Anyway, a couple days after the tablets were done, Aunt Flo would show up.Thanks JR...I guess what's bothering me is the possibility of blood clots.  oh..and the weight gain ...My daughter's getting married in May and I've been trying to lose a few pounds.  I have to take the progesterone for 3 months. Maybe ask the doc if you should take an aspirin each day while taking it, if you're worried about clots?
