Hi Ragnar

I noticed you are on the board and wanted to find out how you are doing?  I wrote you a note before under the prednisone topic.

To Pat and Zali

I am male and 71 and have had pmr for 3 ½ yeqrs. I feel fairly fine after having finished with pred some week before Christmas. I always waited to taper until I had a week without any important matters. I feel a bit tired, but it may have to do with age too. I never had any strong pain and now that I am free from pred I only have a little pain in an arm or a toe, but I don´t have to take anything to suppress the pain.

I am retired but I am still working and I am active taking care of the grandchildren - I have 5. I am just back from four days in Manchester UK, where I attended a seminar and had a two day meeting. At the airport, when I arrived, I saw a big poster with Australia written on it and also some illustration by an artist. It reminded me of the only time I have been in Australia. It was for the Olympics in 2000. Our flight to Australia was from Manchester by Emirates with an intermediate stop in Dubai and after an hour we continued to Singapore, where we stopped for one day before moving on to Sydney. I recommend such a stop to catch up a little with the jetlag. We stayed at a motel in Hunter Valley and had to travel by coach every day to the games. It took over two hours every day. We were especially pleased to visit Lindeman´s and Peterson´s Champagne wineries as my wife and I both like wine. Never had any trouble while having pmr.  My wife´s youngest son (we met in 1991 and had both been married before) played in the Swedish handball team (similar to basketball but with a goal - the World Championships started yesterday in Croatia). The Swedish team got a silver medal and they also got one four years earlier in Atlanta. After Atlanta, the colleagues of my wife said that if they had a son who had a chance to take a medal in the Olympics, they would be rooting for him at the stadium. That´s why we decided to go all the way to Sydney, and we really enjoyed it. We saw the four R´s (Reef (Barrier Reef), Rain Forest, Rocks (Ayers Rocks) and Roos (cangaroos)) and despite the distances we enjoyed the trip very much. We flew by air but took a coach between Alice Springs and Ayers Rocks and although it was a long trip through a landscape which was very much the same all the way, we enjoyed hearing the driver tell about his li8fe. He was married to an aborigine and his wife had been one of the persons carrying the Olympic torch on its way through Australia.
