Okay, I know nothing about this....I'm on Enbrel, MTX and Prednisone along with a few other things but had to stop Enbrel and MTX due to a sinus infection.  I have a buddy who came to visit and brought along a bottle of probiotics cause she said you should always take these after you are on antibiotics.

Safe to take with everything else?
I think so - you might run a search here on AI about probiotics - quite a lot of the tradtional meds people really think it helps.  Also, I just posted a study that says CRP is lowered with them.  Do a search for a thread with CRP in the title - you should find it easily.

thanks pipDebrakay,

When I first started probiotics, I was on Enbrel, MTX, and prednisone.  I didn't have any bad reactions.  I love my probiotics.  I take them all the time, not just after antibiotics.

Yes, I take them all the time, but anyone on antibiotics should take them (but not the same hour---maybe 2 or 3 hours after).I haven't had to take antibiotics for a long long time, but I never had any kind of problem after/during taking them.  My sister gets a yeast infection whenever she takes them.  So.  Are probiotics recommended for anyone taking abx, or just people who are affected like my sister?Linncn, I think pretty much for anyone taking antibiotics. In some (maybe all, but I can't verify) countries in Europe people are actually always prescribed probiotocs when prescribed antibiotics.

It is also possible to have candida albicans overgrowth without obvious symptoms.

Thanks. I will pass that along to my sister for sure, and I'll keep it in mind for the next time I have to take antibiotics too.
