I'm planning on seeing it soon... looks like a great movie. My daughter's there now.  Looks great.I'm looking forward to seeing it. It looks like a very good movie. We usually wait for it to come to HBO or STARZ.I tried yesterday and today and it was sold out here too.  I went to see Paul Blart:Mall Cop instead.  Funny, but I'm dying to see this movie.I saw it. Great Flick. The movie is Awesome.  Clint needs an award for this one.  It is so in your face with some of his lines.  I enjoyed it and so did my dad and niece and husband.  Very good movie a must buy and see.  I hope you enjoy it ...trailer looks good, on my list to see

I'm a fan of "Rowdy Yates's" movies --  (for you youngin's that was Eastwood's character on the tv show RAWHIDE back in the days of black and white tv) -- so I plan on seeing this movie.

I've heard some reviews about it, so I know the story touches on the Hmong experience in the U.S.  For many who don't know much about the Vietnam War, they are probably unaware of the Hmong, who were enlisted by the CIA in the 1960s and 1970s, to fight the communists.  The Hmong fighters played a critical role
in blocking the communist's shipment of supplies on the Ho Chi Minh trail that passed through Laos.

As America pulled out of the war, and the communists took over Laos, the Hmongs who had fought with the US, were forced to flee their country to refugee camps in Thailand.  In their escape, to avoid capture, they would sometimes use opium to keep their children quiet, and in some cases, it resulted in their death.  The US recognizing the sacrifices of the Hmong people to fight with the US, began accepting refugees into the US in 1975.

Here in central California we have a large population of Hmong, and the Hmong youth face many challenges assimilating.  Their suicide rate is one of the highest for teenagers.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I'm glad it helps explain how the Hmong came to be here, and perhaps instill some pride in Hmong's teenagers for their heritage and renew respect for the sacrifices their people made for our country, at great cost to them.
