Enbrel and Tanning Beds? | Arthritis Information

I have been on Enbrel about 4 months for my RA and very pleased with the results. I wonder if anyone out there has been in a tanning bed while on Enbrel? I would like to start but am not sure if it is safe to do so while on this medication. Thanks

I haven't tried a tanning bed. I would call your dr and make sure that it is safe for you.

You need to be careful in the sunlight with a lot of these medication. I really haven't ever had much problem; I'm on Humira thought. I agree with Lu. Better check with your Doc or you might end up with a nasty, painful burn. Lord I'd love a pretty tan though!!

You may have to take the tanning process a bit slower than what you did in the past. However, have you thought about the new spray tanning that most places offer? I've done that instead of tanning (which trust me I did my share of sun worshiping). I love the tan look and it has always made me feel better about myself no matter what was going on with my body. Plus it covers up the site bruising and my horrible veins. :o)

So far enbrel and sun hasn't given me any problems ( started it 3/00)
