Finally - getting my RITUXAN! | Arthritis Information

Hi Guys, last night I spoke to my RD and he is phoning the hospital today to arrange my Rituxan infusion, he asked me did I still want it or had I decided not to due to my recent allergic response to antibiotics?  I said I am very scared of a reaction but he is admitting me overnight for all infusions so that there will be emergency help if I need it.  I was very pleased with his care and concern, he phoned me at home and really listened to how I have been etc and said how was my son?  Also I have started playing pool with my sons and hubby at night and my shoulder is so painful, almost like torn nerves, but when I asked my GP, she said all the tendons are damaged and I must try to not make it any worse or we will have frozen shoulder to deal with too.  But I am loving playing with the family and refuse to stop, so I am going to put antiinflammatory gel on it before playing and see if it helps.

Liam is now on 2.5mg of pred and his blistery eyes are all inflamed again and his spinal and rib pain are back, so my RD agreed that he will need MTX for at least a year as he requires too much pred to keep him pain free, so we are expecting a big flare, (haven't told my son this though) so believe it or not the pred is stopped on the day he returns to school and Paed RD would not overlap pred with MTX, we have to wait a month for it, so I am hoping Liam will be able to cope with school seeing as he  had 5 or so months off last year.  Please keep him in your prayers, as he has enough to deal with just with his epilepsy.  Thanks again everyone for sharing my news good or bad, and I want to add that for those of you in the USA, all the very best for a healthy, happy bright future with your new President Obama, I for one love him, he seems to be a very commanding figure with compassion and strength in the right areas.  Hugs Janie. Prayers for you and your son that your treatments are successful and that you get back to feeling decent! I'll be praying. I hope you guys are feeling much better soon!Congrats Janie. I wish you well and know you will do just fine. Keep us posted.

I hope you both feel better very soon.  In fact, I know you both will.  I'm on a positive kick lately, must be the zoloft.  But seriously...prayers for you both but especially the little fellow.  I hate to hear of sick children.
