lab test results rheumatoid???? | Arthritis Information

I wake up every morning feeling achy and stiff all over, especially my hands and knees. When I sit on the floor to change my daughters diaper or get on the floor to play with her, I can't hardly get up, my knees become real stiff in just a short period of time and it hurts to get up. My doctor said that my hands look a little like rheumatoid hands so he ran blood work and took lower back xrays and shoulder xrays (due to bursitits in right shoulder and clicking sounds in my shoulder.) I went shopping the other day and within an hour my back hurt so bad I had to bend over a cart to try to get relief, I ended up having to come home. I'm 29 years old and I don't feel this is normal. I went to the hospital to get a copy of my lab reusluts, I don't go back to the doctor until tomorrow to find out the results but I'm curious.
I will type the test then results then expected range

Rheumatoid FAc. QNT. 16 IU/ml expected less than 15 In comments it reads This result is flagged ABNORMAL HIGH
HLA B27 Negative A (what does A mean) Negative
Westergren Sed Rate 8 mm/hr expected 0-20
CPK results 64 U/L expected 24-170
Uric Acid 3.6 mg/dl expected 2.6-8.0
C-Reactive Protein 0.50 mg/l exptected less than 10.0
Aldolase 4.6 U/L expected less than 7.4
Anti-Nuclear Aby 0.7 Negative    expected less than 1.0
Does any of these results show I have rheumatoid? What does the Rheumatoid blood test mean?    The doctors nurse called me on Tuesday and left a message for me to call her when I got the message. I didn't get it until after the office was closed and they weren't open yesterday so I'm calling today. I'm just curious. I have started Naproxen 600 mg the week of Thanksgiving. I will say I'm not hurting as much as I was before I started the meds. Still have pain but has gotten a little better. Thanks for your help. What ever you can answer.
KatinaA negative Rheumatoid factor does not mean you do not have it - many of us are seronegative RA.
My ana and CRP were positive but you sound as if symptoms have jsut started so bloods can change.
your symptoms, such as battling to get up sound very similar to mine and it may be RA.
How many joints are painful and is the swelling/pain symmetrical - eg both wrists, knees etc.

Cathy
Sorry - I misread your results - your RF is positive - it sounds like you then may well have RA.
That HLA B27 is some sort of genetic marker -
Sorry , I am not a doctor

Cathy,

Both hands, knuckles especially, Both knees, lower back, my shoulder neck area, my heels of my feet sometimes bother me also, but I'm not sure if this is a area that can be affected.  I was wondering if the dr. can dx me of rheumatoid arthrits even though it is slightly elevated.  You know how some tests if the results are slightly elevated then they ignore it.  So I'm not sure what they are going to do.  I'm calling my dr when I get out of school at 1:30.  I will let you know what I find out.  If they don't do anything, should I get a second opinion with a Rheumatologist?  OR if I do get a Dx, can my primary dr treat me or should I still then go to a Rheumatologist.
