Yikes! That would have me on edge! Keep us posted! A cat eating fig newtons? That is too funny!
A cat eating fig newtons? That is too funny!
Our big cat is named Ginger Snap because when I brought her home as a kitten, the first thing she did was steal and eat ginger snaps from the kitchen table.  She also catches and eats wasps when they sneak in the house.

Snow, hopefully the rest of your evening will be a bit more peaceful!  We live very close to a warning siren also.  It can be quite unnerving when it goes off, even if you're expecting it during a summer storm!  I think I'd come out of my skin if it went off during a quiet winter evening!
You know now my memory is jogged and remembered my daughter's kitten who was visiting on Thanksgiving jumped up on the table pulled away the saran wrap and was eating pumpkin pie out of the plate.  My cat is very fussy. She only likes a piece of shrimp or a tiny piece of ham every once in awhile. oh Snow!  I would hate that!!   I don't have any sirens near us though some of the fire department alarms are obnoxious when you are nearby...

My cat thinks it's an invitation for him to climb on the kitchen counter when I pour milk or open a yogurt!!
Snow.. I understand the discomfort is overriden by need.....  but that it would be unnerving!!
Iknow what you mean about the thundering herd...  I thinkit's my 13 y/o  when the cats get to being crazy and runninga bout!!  LOL
Very glad you are O.K.!!!!!
