barbarathomas2009-01-25 12:06:14Hi BT,
I am sorry to hear about your dx of hypertension or HTN.
I have been battling this for a year now.
Medications are not working. Mine is usually like yours and can go up to the 220s/150s.  I am 5'8" vary from 136 to 138 pounds.  However, a lot going on with RA, lungs, heart, and now kidney problems.
They have not been able to control the htn. and now they feel the kidneys are the problem. has anyone mention heart problems or kidney problems to you?
It is unfortunate you are not able to work as much as you would like.
There are many of us who have had to stop working completely. I have had to stop driving and have been looking for something I can do from home.
Being sick disrupts your whole life.  If I had a choice between money and health, I would choose health easily because with health you can accomplish whatever you want including making the money you need.
I do hope you find the answers to your htn.  It seems to be hard for the docs to pinpoint and treat.
I am hoping once they resolve my kidney issues the htn will resolve, we'll see.

I advise you to seek advice from your physicians. They are better prepared to answer your questions based on your past health history than anyone else. After all you wouldn't take your computer to a pet shop for a diagnosis and repair.

Chronic hypertension requires vigorous and consistent treatment.

Good luck.

Hi BT,

I agree with aquaeon about getting answers from your doctors.  I hope I didn't come across as wanting you to do otherwise.  My intent was let you know you are not alone, to offer support, and to let you know I can relate to some of your issues with htn.  Even though I am in constant therapy for htn, my doctors have not been able to pinpoint the source either.  I think once they pinpoint the source they can then offer a treatment plan to get control of your htn best of luck to you with treatment.

Dear

I would see and be followed by an eating disorders specialist medical doctor.
