Today is the Chinese New Year.  Hallmark has some nice e cards www.hallmark.com  Sends wishes for good fortune.Snow-

Happy year!!!
Good luck Sno! Last year was my year of The Rat. It pretty much stunk. I always feel bad about being associated with a rat. I think it's a good thing to the Chinese though.

Hmmmm- this makes me want to eat some Szechuan Beef extra hot and spicy- yum! How about a PuPu platter?

wanttobeRAfree2009-01-26 11:20:52We're celebrating the new year with friends who adopted a girl from China about ten years ago and now have a highschool exchange student from China. Should be interesting to hear how she celebrates. My DH didn't know if I had to make something, so I was really scratching my head over a recipe that I had ingredients for, then I remembered I used to make eggrolls from scratch, and could probably get cabbage and beansprouts at our local store, but I couldn't find my big paintbrush for the wrappers or any pork in the freezer. So after spinning my wheels and deciding I'd make chicken eggrolls, I called and don't have to make anything. Happy New Year!

Jas, how do you find out what your year is? How did you know you are year of the OX? Or Wannabe, how did you know your year is the RAT?

Thanks.

Hugs, Nini

Oops! It wasn't Jas that is the OX. It was Snow Owl. I'm so sorry!
Nini2009-01-26 13:42:16Nini google chinese new year and it should tell you what you are by year you were born

Happy Chinese New Year

Jan thanks for the Link
I am like you, don't want to be associated with an animal, unless it was the eagle, polar bear, wolfe, or tiger.  I'm the rabbit on the Chinese zodiac.

LOL Snow!

Here is a link to the Chinese horoscope I saw earlier today.  Pretty straightforward.  You just pick the year you were born.  My year is 1963  -- the rabbit.

I'm the year of the dog and all my zodiac talked about was my work.......I don't work, I'm retired.  My job is to have fun.  Maybe I'll go back and substitute the word fun for work and see how it reads, hmmm.  LindyYeah LinB,
It talked about how healthy I was too.  I wish that were true, however...
Didn't help to substitute the words, oh well.  The year of the dog-BOW WOW.  Basically told me to pace myself....that's nothing new.  Ljust an old goat here LOLSno- what a kind thing to say about me! You must have searched high and low to find a web site that made a good mention about The Rat. On the link you posted the Rat sounded just like what I think of when I think Rat  Sno- I thought the ox traits were very admirable! Not dull! I will have to go back and scroll down.  My other zodiac sign is Libra and boy do I aways weigh things! Shelly- at least rabbits are cute! Hey sno- I went back to the link....I don't even know where I was reading before- I actually found a lot of good things about the Rat.

The funniest thing was it said Yoga would benefit me LOL! Do you think I'll ever get my husband to try it?
WanttobeRAfree,
Right, a cute Rodent-looking thingy...oh goodie.:)
It's the same as the rat, they're cousins.
Glad you found something said nice about your Chinese zodiac though.
take it easy.
I'm the year of the Goat, love to climb mountains!!!!

Thanks for the sites.
Awww...Snow,
That's sweet of you to say that about me.
Thanks....

Sno- my husband is The Dog and Saggitarius. That doesn't looked like it's spelled right
