I got flu shot and the Flu | Arthritis Information

Started last night, eyes hurt, skin hurts, stomach, worst heartburn of my life, Fever, skin crawling, went to bed, 45 minutes later hanging head over toilet, sick sick sick! I have spent the day in and out of dizzy consciousness. My eyes hurt so bad. My stomach is better, but I have NOT ate a thing. I ate soup beans and corn bread yesterday for dinner, I will NEVER EVER EVER, EVER eat them again.

My DH brought me ginger ale and crushed ice. That is all I have been able to handle.

I received a flu shot, what gives?

Did I mention my eyes hurt.
Just to be clear, I had the flu shot a couple months ago.Sounds more like a stomach virus, not influenza There are many strains of flu and they make an educated guess on which flu will be the ONE, apparently you got hit with one of the strains that the flu shot didn't cover.  Sorry that you're feeling so bad....the flu is absolutely the worst.  Drink lots of liquids.  LindySounds like the Norovirus.  There was an outbreak near me, at the local university over Christmas........

My eyes hurt the absolute worse. I am going to look up norovirus.

I swear my stomach blew up like some huge balloon. It was disgusting. I looked like I was pregnant, and felt like I wanted to die.

Thanks all.
wow! that sounds awful.
I got sick after taking one.
I know they are supposedly safe but also know I get sick after taking them too.
Hope you feel better soon. I agree with Snowowl.

Didn't just have flu shot.  You guys are probably right, sounds like Norovirus = nasty stuff.  Lindy
I got a flu shot in november and haven't felt quite right since then.  I never actually got the flu though.

never had flu or flu shot, I never run temps instead temp drops and I get chills, is my sign of infection????

You all were right, not the flu, just a virus. I feel way better today. I slept surprisingly well last night and this morning I took some toast for breakfast. Chicken soup or a soft scramble egg for lunch/dinner. I haven’t decided yet. My appetite is up, I could eat more now, but I want to take it easzzzy. The stomach bug is the Pitts.

Thanks,
Tink
Well I believe I had the flu also (and I had a flu shot). Started out Friday night when I was skiing. Throat was sore and was having a terrible time getting down the mountain. Joints really started hurting. Saturday morning completely bedridden with a 103.5 fever, aches, pains, chills, cough.

Finally started feeling pretty decent today. I am do for my next Enbrel shot today and wondering if I should skip it again...My husband & I both had flu shots. He got the flu, terribly while I was in the hospital. Ovbiously a different strain of flu. He was there with me day and night. People get sick in hospitals all the time because of all the viruses floating around. By the time I was sent to the rehab center, he had full blown flu.He was sick the whole time I was in rehab, 12 days. Finally better when I came home.

Tink, I hope you are feeling better soon. We are always here for you.
Hugs,
Nini
