I am in the middle of the process for disability. They have just scheduled an appointment for me and I was wondering what to expect. If anyone can offer any advice it would be appreciated. I am seronegative and am not expecting this to turn out good. If you search on disability, I think you'll find some old threads with lots of information.  The appointment that is scheduled...is that an interview or a doctor appointment?  The phone interview I had was for them to take all the information for the application, although I had already filled it out online.  They just ask you questions about your diagnoses, meds, drs, and how it prevents you from working and doing activities then record your answers.  If it is a doctor, they will likely just examine you, perhaps check your range of motion, and ask you similar questions.

Be sure when you answer questions, you base your response on what your worst days are like.  Don't gloss over anything, they need to know how bad it gets.

Good luck with your application.  My attorneys just filed my first appeal, so we'll see how it goes.
Good Luck on getting your disability. I don't know if anyone remembers but back in like OCT-Nov. we had a posting going on disabilty questions and there was a web site that you could go on and put in your info to see if you qualified. I am starting the process and don't know where to start. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Laura... Good luck in your case.My appointment is with a doctor. So i dont know what to expect. thanks for the advice and good wishes.

I know this has been written about but here is my 2$ (inflation) worth;  Collect all your medical records and make copies.  Expect to work on a deadline (their deadline).  You will do everything they ask, not hear from them for a couple of weeks, then get a letter telling (or a threat depending on how you look at it) you that you have to meet this deadline (usually a few days away) or you lose your chance to get benefits!  You usually end up getting that lawyer (what is wrong with that picture).  Anyway, that is how it went for me, I hope it is better for you.
Best wishes and don't let it get to you!

Good luck
thanks everyone for the advice and good wishes
