2006 left shoulder  Calcific tendonitis and minor degeneration acromioclavicular joints

2007 right foot oa changes interph joints big toe and little toe

In 2007 I was diagnosed with OA of the cervical spine.  Osteophytes present in the vertebral end plates

2009 I have  Heberdens nodes on  a few fingers for a while now but have recently had an xray which showed  degenerative joint disease inherphalangeal joints, meta joints and wrist. Changes in the inher joints more affected

My OA has been pretty manageable but recently my fingers have esp been painful and stiff.  Also  I now have more pain in other  joints. Im not sure why all of a sudden my joints are aching. Any suggestions would be appreciated
Hi Kate,

Here is a website where they quite successfully treat arthritis with abx.

You might find something of interest on my OA page in my sig line below.

Good luck with your research.

Hello Ron

On reading the information from your links I am wondering if I have RA as well as OA?

It just seems  funny to me that my fingers, thumb, wrist, feet, shoulders and neck all ache!

I just always thought it was OA but now really think its RA as well.

Is RA hereditery? I assume a blood test can confirm RA?
Hi Kate,

It would be best for you to talk to your doctor about RA versus OA.

It has been my experience with an infectious cause of arthritis it doesn't matter what you call it.

There is some thought that RA is hereditary but the answer is not yet set in stone as to the cause, personally I feel there are many causes, one being Lyme.

There are tests for RA but again not 100% reliable.

You could get more ideas by posting on the RBF board or here on the RA board.

Ron
