Hi all  -  New Years eve I was diagnosed with RA but  clinically.  My sed rate was a little high but the other labs were normal.  My joints on my fingers, wrists, ankles and feet feel like broken glass.  I can't walk in the morning, open a doorknob etc.   Anyway, now I am on MTX and folic acid.  Hopefully it will kick in.  I just took my second dose today.  The antiinflammatories he put me on made me itch like crazy.

The question is ----- the doctor asked if I had any rashes.  no.  I was thinking arms, legs, etc.  Never thinking -  I have had a rash on both sides of my head near my temples (hairline) and in the hairline in front of both ears (like the sideburn area) for y ears and years.  If I drink cocktails (no more cocktails with mtx) it triggers the rash to get itchy, thick, scaly.  No one can really see it thankfully because it is covered with my har.  Could this be psoriasis and I actually have PA???  I see the doctor again Feb 23 and will dicuss it with him but I am really curious to what you all think.  thanks!!  winnie
It's a possibility.  Ask for another med to control inflammation and/or Tramadol for pain.  Have you been on a burst pack of Pred?  I don't advocate it's use unless the inflammation and pain is interfering with your everyday duties.   It can help until the MXT starts working.  Hope MXT kicks in soon.  Keep us posted.  Lindy
