My brother recently has knee replacement surgery. His surgeon insisted on four weeks of "knee boot camp" before scheduling the procedure. My brother was so impressed by how he felt that he voluntarily signed up for two more weeks.

He recovery was fast and his post-surgical PT was minimal.
