Hey I was just wondering if anyone on this site crunches ICE... I can't seem to stop doing it.  The Dentist says its bad for my teeth but I have been eating Ice for years now.  My General physhcian said it's from my Anemia thats a sign of low iron.  Man I don't know what to do.  I can go like the weekend with out eating Ice unless I end up at a resturant or something.  But if I stay home I don't crave it so much.  But as soon as I get to work, we have an ICE machine here I get a big cup full.  I only have one cup a day but other times I eat two.

Anyone else out there crave Ice or crunch it or just have to have it.

Not trying to worry you, but you need to get to the bottom of anemia thing.  I read this in the LA Times yesterday, searched for it for you today.

It's probably just the iron, but did you have your zinc levels tested?

I was told by the doc I was anemic when I crunched ice non-stop during both of my pregnancies. IMO Sonic has the *best* ice!  ;)   Have you been tested for anemia?

I have chronic anemia and crunch lettuce continuosly, I thought it was due to my sjogrens . I used to crunch ice when i  was pregnant but was told it was pica, i crunched it through all 3 pregnancies and my eldest daughter crunches ice all the time..

Your2smart,

Crunching Ice could cause cracks and hairline fractures on your teeth! It can also wear down the enamel and cause cavaties. Try to break the habit. Do get checked for anemia. But, please stop the ice crunching before it cost you a trip to your dentist. Try using a straw when you order cold drinks and stay away from the office ice machine

Take care,

Tink
No way do I crunch ice. I have 63 year old teeth and I don't need another dentist appt. because of something I did.  Lindy
