sulphur baths | Arthritis Information

My sister in law lives in South Africa and has a friend with RA. Her friends swears by sulphur ( takes supplements ) but they have started taking sulphur baths as well. I have never heard of them but a spa has opened up and she has been receiving treatment using these bath treatments,  she said it has improved her RA dramtically . Has anyone heard of this treatment beforeI haven't heard of the treatment. I am alergic to Sulphur antibiotics, wonder what would happen if I took a bath in it? I love spa treatments, I have had the warm stone massage. Was very relaxing. I also have had a deep tissue massage, I hurt for 2 weeks after that. I think she messed up my neck.  I do not go to the spa any longer, it cost to much money and my husband works hard and his practice has slowed some so I do my part to save money and just soak in a bath salt at home.

The labs remained the same so disease activity was positive.   I read it as being pallative in nature.  If it helps your joints and feels good then do it.  I'm all for anything that helps the pain, it's just that and not a cure.  I actually get the same results from using the hot tub or soaking in a hot springs.  My pain now is from damage and not active disease so that may make a difference.  Go for it, can't hurt.  Lindy
