That doesn't address anything that was said in the article and video I posted. Maybe your links belong on another thread?

So Lynn, what do you think of the information presented in the video?http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18594491?dopt=Abstract&holding=f1000,f1000m,isrctnActually, I should ammend that to say those links actually supportthe hypothesis presented in the video, since it explains why women with AI diseases would have low vitamin D levels when tested.

But they're still not directly related.
I see, that study also supports the hypothesis presented in the video.

So, does that mean you agree with the information on the video, Lynn?

I mean, you infer you have an opinion by posting studies and articles. What's the issue with just stating your opinion?http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18089676?dopt=Abstract&holding=f1000,f1000m,isrctn

Every single link you've posted on this thread bolsters the theory presented in the video.

Have you actually watched the video?can't watch the video right now..

but I see alot of "may" and"perhaps" and "consider" and "So it may indeed be possible"

not alot of definitive expressions there...... seems like there's not alot of documented evidence to support her "considerations"

Babs, every study and everything always says that. The stuff about Vitamin D being the cureall for everything always says that and I don't see you pointing it out there.

But it does illustrate my point that neither the for or against side of Vitamin D supplementation really has any concrete evidence.

That doesn't mean people shouldn't be aware of both sides, though.

Gimp-

Can't watch it now but will later.  Vitamin D is one of those controversial subjects.
Jan, despite numerous articles and studies about it, little is known about what Vitamin d actually does. I think it's important to be open minded about how the Vitamin (which is not really a vItamin) works.LOL - love it GoGo!  Amazing that some people can't articulate for themselves what they think.  Personally, I'd be worried if all my medical decisions were made by people with a stake in my pocket and less of a stake in my health - but thats my opinion.  ;-)I do agree, Gimpy that all sides of all stories should be given.. it is the only way we can make our best decisions....

Pip.. That's quite condescending... and really doesn't elevate you to a higher place .. nor was that necessary ...........  it takes away from any valid point you want to make...... kwim?

Since I was aiming for you...I rest my case.

;-)

Pip
Thanks to those posting both sides of this issue.  It gives me research to discuss with my doctors.

Now PEACE girls, PEACE.
[QUOTE=Pip!]Since I was aiming for you...I rest my case.

alas..

you couldn't reach this high jumping on a trampoline......  somethings are beyond grasp, kwim?

;)
hmmm... so gimp and pip are actually against one sided stories and people proclaiming something as a cure allGimp-

The presenter, Amy Proal, is an attractive gal!!!!! intelligent and articulate.

Babs-

When it comes to science, I tend to agree with Pip.
as Is your choice, Jan...   as we all have choices.

Babs-

Yes, we certainly do.

what is kwim?

Tink, it means "know what I mean".  I found this web site - an essential for dinos like me!
http://www.netlingo.com/lookup.cfm?term=KWIM

Waddie,
Great site! I booked marked it. It will help me when I get lost. I need to be more HIP, kwim?......LOL
i learned all that so that I could "shorthand" my typing..   I mean let's face it.. sometimes it hurts!!IKWYM, Babs.  Its just that I still hear (and can almost see) my 6th grade English teacher marching around the room, red pin in hand, scowl on face looking to humiliate!!!  I think they have laws against that now...  "IKWYM"   good one!!    I found it difficult initially as well... I don't shorthand things as much as my kids do...  such as:  U R doing gr8!!  =  You are doing great!
