So, I had my visit with my Ra doc and we discussed the horrible body, misery, constant rash. I told her after being off all RA meds (Humira and MTX) while I was dealing with pneumonia stuff in Nov. and Dec. and half of Jan., it went away. Reported it came back with a vengeance when I restarted the meds. She took me off MTX and, knock on wood, no rash so far!
I am really happy about that, but in light of my pulmonologist saying to "get agressive" in treating my ra, I worry about the loss of the MTX. Hmmmm....
Waddie I am on no form of agressive treatment anymore. I have had bad reaction from humira, then i had an allergic reaction to enbrel , I also had allergic reactions to gold injections , avara. I am on MTX but due to a really bad kidney infection I am no longer on it. I am due to go for a colonoscopy next month. I cant take Rutiximab. My RA hasnt got any worse without treatment ( i am flaring at the moment) but i flared even on treatment. My xrays show no new problems and all my other tests show the same as I was before.
Glad the rash is gone. Are they talking about putting you on another med similar to MTX?
MTX caused me to break out in an allergic reaction. So did sulfasalazine and humira. Sometimes on Enbrel (been on it about a year) my arms break out. I take a couple of benedryl and it goes away. Benedryl didn't help much when I broke out while taking mtx. I was glad though because I didn't want my hair to fall out.
