It would be interesting to see the actual study data, if there is any.  Some issues I have, after reading the article:

How much omega-3 EFA's were ingested in each of the groups?  "High intake" isn't specific enough.

Were the men ingesting the same amount as the women, or was their intake adjusted for the higher average caloric needs of men?

Were the depressed women depressed because they ingested fewer omega-3 EFA's, or were they ingesting fewer omega-3 EFAs as a result of poor diet choices due to depression?  People tend not to "eat healthy" when depressed.  Personally, I'm gonna go for the cheeseburger and fries rather than the poached salmon and sensible salad if I'm feeling the blues.
