Looking for Doc in Boston | Arthritis Information

Hi Everyone,

I just moved to Boston, and need to find a rheumatologist.  Does anyone have a good one?  I heard Brigham and Women's Hospital has a good Arthritis dept, which is right down the street from me.

Also, I am looking for a primary care physician in the same area.  Around Longwood Ave would be great!

Thank you for your feedback.

I live in the UK so  Im no good for Boston but I really hope you get a good Rheumy and good luck in your new home tooThank you!  I just started a new job in this really cold climate.  But I am excited.  It's a good job and the first one in almost 3 years thanks to Enbrel and physical therapy! Glad the enbrel is working for you, It worked for me too but i took an allergic reaction to it so had to stop...Its exciting to be going into a new venture and I wish you all the bestHey Nori, congratulations on the new job!  That's very exciting!  Boston is an awesome city, so much to do and see.  I live about two hours away, in Connecticut.

I suggest you look into Tufts Medical Center and it's Rheumatology program.  They have many clinical trials and studies, and are well known for cutting edge medicine.

Welcome to New England!

I'm so sorry to hear about an allergic reaction to Enbrel after it had been successful.  Did you try anything else?  What were the symptoms of the reaction?

I have been on Humira but low tolerance to meds which has resulted in no meds at all....One day something will come on the market and i will be able to tolerate it. I am seeing my doc to chat about my next step.
My allergic reaction to enbrel was quite severe, It started off with just a lump at the injection site, the next day my whole leg was swollen and later on my mouth started to swell and i had a huge rash...Humira gave me kidney problems and upper respiratory infections all the time. I went to hospital the other day with pain and was given a coedine injection, i had an allergic reaction to that as well and had to be given antihistamines to calm it down......so no hope !! lol
