Just checking....my infusion is on Friday.  How long did it take you to feel the effects?
Is it helping?  Any horrible side effects?
Hi - I've been on Orencia infusions for just a year now, after both Humira and Enbrel didn't work for me.  After about 4 months, I thought that Orencia was working, and after 6 months I was sure of it, and after a nasty 2 year flare, my doc declared me in a "clinical remission".  No bad side effects to speak of, just a bit more tired 24 hours after each infusion.  Good luck to you and I truly hope that Orencia works for you as well??  Keep us posted and if I can answer any other questions for you, please let me know??

Hi
I started Orencia in dec and have just had my 4th infusion. So far can't see any improvement. I had tried remicade for a year and have also been on Humira and enbrel. Getting close to running out of options

Hi,

I started Orencia Mid-May 2008 after Enbrel quit working.  It took three or four months before I thought it was working.  It was a slow, gradual improvement.  I now experience very little morning stiffness and am feeling almost normal again.  As I have had RA for 40 years, I have damage (hands and feet) that will never go away; but I feel well, exercise and have a normal life.  SO HAPPY FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO START ON THE NEW DRUGS WHICH SHOULD KEEP YOU FROM GETTING  LASTING  DAMAGE.  As far as side effects, I haven't had any that I'm aware of.  Haven't noticed being tired after the infusion, just relieved that its available and working.  GOOD LUCK TO  YOU!!
I started Orencia in April, and it took about four months to see a little gradual improvement.  Unfortunately I haven't seen increasing improvement from there, and a sinus infection has kept me from getting my infusions for the last two months, so whatever small benefit I was getting is disappearing.  But I plan to continue on the Orencia until a suitable alternative, Cimzia or Actemra, is approved.  I have heard that sometimes it can take 9 months to a year to really kick in fully, so I figured I'd hang in just in case.

I haven't had any side effects at all, other than a little extra fatigue right after the infusion.  Good luck on Friday!
I have been on Orencia since Sept 2006.  I haven't had any complications.  I did get one of the side effects, which is a headache after the infusion.  To me I felt the effects of the drug working with in 48 hours.  Everyone is not like me but I really know my body and I could tell the changes in my pain level.  It has helped me return to a some what normal life.  Before Orencia I could not go anywhere, walk in the park, Mall shopping.  Standing for any lenght of time was out of the questions.  To me this is wonderful to have my life back and enjoy my children while they are young and do things with them.

I hope this drug works for you
