Arthritis Information -ear infections and Enbrel

Dear Barb,

I am brand new to this board. I just read your posting regarding ear infections and Enbrel.  I was diagnosed with RA approximately 12 years ago.  Have been on Enbrel approximately 9 years.  Never had an issue until two months ago and NOW am experiencing my third "rip-roaring" ear infection.  My doctor has informed me that once I have experienced an ear infection, I am now more susceptible (within the next 3-6 months or so) to have additional ones.  And, due to the Enbrel, this places me at a greater risk.  The Enbrel has been a lifesaver for me, other than this.  I am just afraid that it will begin to lessen my ability to fight other such infections.  Tried Methyltrexate two times and thought I would collapse from the muscle contractions.  Thanks for listening.  Stace.
Do you mean methatrexate gave you muscle contractions? I have PA and have awful fatigue and muscle aches.  I am on methatrexate, cymbalta for nerve issues at the end of  my tendons, humira bi-weekly, feldene, norlfex as needed for muscles, folic acid and prednisone.  I also have fibromyalgia.  Would like to know more about your muscle contractions.

peace!
