Should I tell my RD about this? | Arthritis Information

Ok... so... I have this thing. Been complaining about it for a few years now. I am just thinking it is fibro, but like I know LOL!

So... my muscles hurts when I bump into things or someone squeezes my arm or leg. I mean it is awful pain. It is shoot to your head kinda pain.

The other night I was sitting on the in-laws couch and my son came over where I was sitting and he aimed too far over towards me and landed his little skinny boney butt on my left thigh. I screamed like he had punched me or something. Grandpa thought I was over reacting and I was not. It was a reaction to the pain.

I have been trying to explain to my hubby that when he squeezes my arm or thigh or anything on me that it hurts for hours and hours and then is sore sometimes days and then I will have a bruise there.

Weird thing is... things I think that will bruise, does not give me bruises. But things like someone squeezing my arm or me bouncing off a doorframe will leave a bruise and hurt for days.

Now... does that sound like fibro to any of you?
It is only my muscles that hurt and are sore. and I can feel where the spot is. Kinda like the muscle is indented a little. I don't know if it sounds like fibro or not.  But it does sound like something to tell your doctor.  Maybe he'll just say that it's your fibro, but maybe it's someting that needs to be checked out.  You see your rd soon, right?I don't have fibro so I don't have a clue but it can't hurt to ask.  My husband says I exaggerate when he pinches or grabs me and I say ow- but I think he doesn't know his own strength. He thinks he's being funny but I don't like to play around like that.yeah, i see her the 17th. i just know it is getting in creasingly worse over the last couple of months and the soreness seems to be worse too. or i could be lossing my tolerance for pain because of taking my pain meds like i was told to. now if i could just get myself to take my muscle relaxers like iam suppose to.no, it is anythig that does it. I can brush up against something and it will hurt and be sore for hours.

Like my son sitting on my thigh... he only weights 35lbs and did not sit down hard, hard. But it was enough.

Sometimes I have stuff like that. The bone on the side of my foot hurts all of the time. I barely bumped it the other day. It felt like I broke it. It hurt alot worse for two days. I personally think there is inflamation in my foot that makes it so sensetive. Sure swelling makes may tendons and muscles hurt also.Hi Joonie, this happens to me also, my GP says that the muscles are involved too in RA to a point, ligaments, tendons etc, even my veins??? when I have drips or blood tests!  Check it out with your doc, I usually put mine down to FM, hugs Janie. not been DX'd w/ FM.... but there are certain places that hurt like you describe... and most of my areas are close to a large joint.... my hips.. my knees... my shoulders....   I guess that is an affect of my joints' pain radiating?  But it REALLY hurts when bumped or banged as you say.......  yeouch!! joonie,
Yes tell your Doctor. My joints hurt and the tendons around them hurt like the heck. Very soar. if I run my hand down my calf and near the inside of my ankle It is excruciating pain near the knee and near the ankle. It also will hurt for hours and be super sensitive after trying to massage the pain out...makes it worse...I really do not have any guess if it is this or that, but I would tell your doc on the 17th..( I read u have a app. on the 17th..so do I!

Take Care,
Tink
Joonie,
I too have a 35-lb boney-butt son and know what you mean. Since my onset was sudden and has only been short duration so far, I attribute any changes to the RA. I am so sensitive to pain all of a sudden, not only joints, like you are describing. Minor bumps and jolts can be excruciating.

Mo
I have the same issues.  Especially on my thigh right above the knee, on the outside, and upper arms below my shoulders, on the outside.
