hi ladies and gents (are there any gents here?)
finally got in to see both my md and ra docs early this week...looking for a fibro diagnosis. have had the ra for many years but these last 3 years or so have been bad, all the fibro symptoms; flu like tenderness, aches, fatique, always the horrible neck pain, nasuea and bad bowels etc etc
went to my md with the symptom list...he didnt ask any questions just wanted to put me on cymbalta. he didnt do the tender point test and altogether didnt give me any confidence....felt like the cymbalta rep had maybe been by that day and offered him a nice kickback.
went to my reumy...he was very attentive asking me all about myself. (very nice becuase sometimes he can be a little quick)
the answer is - i now have raynauds, carpal tunnel in the left hand, probably sojrens (doing some tests) and "muscle/spine" involvement. he said i may have fibro, but he only checked 4 points (the two on the upper back were tender - not the chest or elbows) makes me think he is not that hip on diagnosing fibro. but i feel he is still treating me with that in mind.
adding flexeril to my med list...to help me sleep. changed my nsaid from celebrex to mobic (seems we need a new nsaid every 3 years or so have you noticed that?) ordered blood tests, is sending me to an opthamologist - going back for some cortisone shots in the hands in a couple of weeks. wants me back on the mtx...but i just cant do it.
arthritis run rampant.
flexeril didnt seem to help me get to sleep but i can hardly stay awake today. anyone taken this med?
