Bloody nose | Arthritis Information

Does anybody ever get an occasional bloody nose?  I never used to get them, but I get one like every other week now.  It's not even dry here right now. HmmmmYeah, I got one recently.  I didn't realize until my husband was like, uh, you're bleeding, cause I had a runny nose anyway.  It's longstanding for me.  When I was in high school, I woke up in the middle of the night, thought, "my pillow is COLD!", flipped it over.  Woke up to a bloody face and a pillow with blood all over both sides.  And then there was the soccer game (varsity, in college) where my nose started bleeding during the national anthem, and so I couldn't play for a while because NCAA rules were strict about blood on jersyes.

Anyway, been there, I'm sorry!  My mom had to have her nose cauterized at the ER when she was little, I had one time where it bled so long we almost had to (also high school) and I think it was sheer will power that made it stop...

Anyway, you should look into it.  Mostly for me, mine were associated with sinus problems or dry weather.  Definitely mention that to the doctor!
KatieG2009-02-12 19:17:39I had one recently too! I had never had one before. All of a sudden it was just running blood. I remember reading somewhere that it was associated with lupus, so i was wondering if  anyone found it in their RA research?I haven't run across it. Lupus?  Great.

I get them... I associate them with Sjogrens and dryness.......
HI I used to get tehm when I was on higher (20mg) doses of MTX.  Regards Janie. I had nose bleeds on MTX as well as bruising.
