What happens when your crown breaks off | Arthritis Information

I was pleasently eating dinner last night and my beautiful 00 dollar for 4 years ago broke off.  I'm a little concerned about the exposed tooth.  I believe i have had a root canal done years ago.  I don't feel any pain.  I'm just worried it might be posioning my blood stream.  Anyone had this happen and what were your concerns.

I have contacted my dentist but I know they are going to send me to the endodontist.
Any advice anyone????Ladybug,
If there is not enough tooth left to crown they can do a "crown buildup" that will allow the crown to be attached.  I've had two done this way.

No--if there is not enough left--crown lengthening will not work.  I just went and am still going through a similar issue.  They pulled the tooth and did a bone graft.  They just checked the graft the other day and now I can start the procedure for an implant.  Ladybug--you will think the 00 is cheap after an implant!!!!  And to add injury to insult--you will have to have a "crown" to put on the peg of the implant.  I had two crowns, crown lengthening, an attempted root canal and the tooth finally had to go.  By the time the implant is completed, the one tooth will have over ,000 in it.  I think the government needs to investigate the dental  industry while it is investigating all the other crooks--it is total robbery.  Wished I was kidding.  Yes CATNIP2 the implants are crazy expensive.  I have been to a periodontist and he said it would be 00.00 out of my pocket.  I was very lucky to have a honest periodontist who said a crown lenghting would not work.  You can look at a bridge but I believe your best route is a implant. He said it would probably last longer that I would be alive.  So as it stands I need two Implants.  All my insurances will be used up for the year.  Yes. I'm with you they need to look into the dentistry business.  I'm crushed at how much I will have to pay.
Then on top of that they offer you a loan to get the all the work done at 11%
Well I need to make some decisions.  I know for sure I'm going to have both  of them removed and deal with the SPACES FOR RENT... later.

That is awful that the thing came off. I think you should call your dentist right away if you already haven't. The best advice I get from my very special Dentist
