Hey Rebecca, I am not sure I will be around this weekend so I wanted to let you know you have friends thinking about you and knowing this is all going to go well and good for you.  I know the days before a major surgery can be stressful.  Try and deep breath through all those little panic moments and tell yourself it will all be okay because you deserve nothing less.  That's what I will be thinking on the day of your surgery.

Best to you and I am humming for you!

Waddie
Good luck and hope all goes well for you, rebecca.

Let us know how it all goes when you can.
Post and let us know how you are doing...you are in my thoughts.best to you rocckyd!!

(what a nice thoughtful thread!!! )
Yeah, roc, get that jaw taken care of. (It's your jaw, right?) I expect to see you on the board a lot, since you might not feel like talking to the people that are actually in the room! Good luck best wishes.

Best of luck with the surgery.  I hope it goes well for you.

Bob
Thanks guys!!

I am very nervous.  Luckily, everyone has been very supportive.  It has almost been more stressful planning to be out.  I've had to plan for three different levels of science for the next two weeks.  This is one of the few times I dislike teaching.  You can't just be out.

This thread made my day :)
rocckyd2009-02-13 15:40:59Good luck to you too Rocckyd...we will both be in surgery on the same day, but my thoughts are with you!! It's great you have people to email to on here,  like the others said,  when you don't feel like (or cant) talk. I sure enjoy this forum, lots of support when you need it from people who truly understand. Kelly- what time is your surgery? You know my brain fog is awful tonight. I can't remember what you are having. Please remind me? So...I survived.  I am still at the hospital but brought my laptop.  I do look like the Bride of Frankenstein.

It seems there was a ton of scar tissue in both joints.  This is from the RA damage.  He also removed quite a bit of inflammed/diseased tissue as well.  He was very surprised at the amount of disease in there.  As usual, doctors always look right at your hands when you say RA.  My hands have always looked really good.  Instead, it messes with my eyes, chest/ribs, jaw, and knees.  He is sending his report to the RD as well due to the amount of damage he saw.  He thought it would be more OA---hmmm, glad I can surprise!  I will hopefully get out tomorrow and then have to go straight to the surgeons office for a recheck.  Then, home sweet home!!  I have 5 movies, 6 books, a dog that is boarded, little one at the grandparents, and two snuggly cats.  Oh, and the entire soft, squisy, bland food section of walmart!
Glad it's over and it sounds like you are doing well! I am so glad! Are you in much pain? Best Wishes to you both. Heal quickly! Rebecca, I am so happy to hear you are okay.  I hope you have fast healing and great drugs to help with pain.  With your positive outlook I feel sure things are going to be so much better for you.  Happy healing and sweet wishes ! Hi Rebecca, so happy that this is over and you can soon be up and doing all of your usual things.  Sounds like you're going to pamper yourself a little.  Good luck with recovery.  LindyI'm glad that this is behind you, get well soon!!!
