a word about water | Arthritis Information

My experience recently, trying to deal with the meds I am on, has been that I need to drink copious amounts of water. Ridiculous amounts. I'm not even thirsty half the time. But when my stomach is upset or my head hurts, water almost always helps.

It's gotten to the point that when I put my hand to my forehead because I've suddenly gotten a headache, my husband simply points to the water bottle sitting next to me (always!). Sure as the moon follows the sun, even though I am not thirsty, I start glugging it down and the headache goes away.

Hey Bluehour, you might want to get that checked out, loads of stuff can cause this.  Diabetes comes to mind.  Idk what meds you are on, I have not really associated thirst with what I take (except when on steroids).  Hmmm.... maybe I should pay closer attention...  as far as meds.... do you take MTX?  I find that the headache of MTX can be dealt w/ by being extremely hydrated!!  drink LOADS of water...

I'm always thirsty.. so I'm always drinking!
Yeah, Babs, I do take MTX. Waddie, I don't think it's diabetes, because this started with the medications. I'm on pred too but not for much longer, next week it'll be half a pill every other day! Hooray!

I'm always thirsty and can tell when I've not been drinking enough water.   I do great during the week at work and then I forget to keep re-filling that glass on the weekend.   Big difference when having blood drawn as well - the lab techs like a vein well-hydrated.
