Hello Everyone,
I haven't been on the board in so long I almost feel like a newbie again. It's just that this RA thing has really been getting to me. Seems meds I am currently taking are not doing enough. So RD is trying to get Insurance  to authorize enbral. I have never used this and am wondering if anyone who has can tell me more or less what to expect.  Also I am having serious pain in breast bone area. Hurts to move, not to move. It is just this horrible pain. Not like a heart attack just aching, excruchiating pain.  I am set to go back to RD in a week and would like to hold out till then if I can.  I guess my second question is can RA get in your sternum??
Yes, RA can effect sternum.  Living With Rheumatoid Arthritis by Schlautzhauoer has a diagram of areas affected by RA.Thanks I will look for the book. Schlotzhauer I think is the correct spelling.. I have the book... Amazon has some used copies for.60
Yes, RA can effect sternum.  Living With Rheumatoid Arthritis by Schlautzhauoer has a diagram of areas affected by RA.
I found it on Amazon. Thanks for the tip. I am sure the book  will be a help.
I have been taking enbrel for 3 months now and it worked almost instantly.  It's made a huge difference.  No real side effects except some mild injection reaction and rash...nothing some benadryl cream doesn't take care of.  Good luck!

M23, I am sorry to hear of your pain.  Loads of my pain are in my chest too.  I feel sure Enbrel will help you, I use to be on it and now am on Humira.  Make sure and convey to your RD the info on your chest pain as RA can effect everything in your chest and she/he may want you to have cardiac and pulmonary work-ups.

I hope you feel better soon!
Welcome back Cammie. I don't have any experience with Enbrel but glad to see you back on the board. Hope you get some relief with it! hi, just wanted to say that enbrel has worked great for me. I too felt immediate results. My pain lessoned and my energy level was back. I don't have any side effects at all. I hope it works as well for you as it did for me.Look up info on costochondritis regarding your chest pain.  I am dealing with that as well.  Good luck with Enbrel!  I am about to start Humira.
