Has Anyone Experience Tongue Pain? | Arthritis Information

I know this sounds silly but for the last month or so my tongue has been sore. I don't know if it's from the meds or what. I'm on MTX, folic acid, prednisone and Benicar. I've had horrible sinus problems on my left side since I started on the meds and my tongue is sore off and on. I was just wondering if anyone else has ever experienced such?

My tongue swells and feels like i've had salt, but doesn't taste salty...just burning sensation. Have you thought about sjogrens?

what about a yeast infection? you can have a yeast infection in your mouth.... just a thought. w.w.Aleva- I didnt need a prescription for the biotene. I also have sjogrens but my tongue hurting seems to have a different type of pain than it does with my sjogrens. I go back to the doctor about my iron levels tomorrowI use Biotene too. Just a small swish several times a day. and yes I get tongue cramps. isnt that the weirdest feeling in the world?

I gt a lot of tongue sores when I started MTX AND thrush ick.. the folic acid helped a LOT.. and after my body got used to the MTX I stopped the folic acid and havent gotten thrush recently either.

Thanks guys. It is the weirdest feeling. It never happened before I went on MTX and pred. Grrrr! just one more thing to deal with. My sinuses are killing me too.I would not blame it entirely on the MTX. Someone once told me a B vitamin deficancy. I do not remember which one. I have Sjorgrens and Sinuse problems and RA. I do not know why but my tongue has had occasions when it really hurt. Sometimes a bit swollen other times not. I get thrush sometimes but that I do not think caused my tongue pain. For me it would go away after about a week as mysteriously as it appeared.

I have had that problem maybe three times in the past year and a half.
