Okay, let me rephrase the question... | Arthritis Information

I see a nice sized goup read my question concernig the "rollator" but only one replied.

Do none of you with PMR have a grinding or horrible burning sensation when walking? I certainly do and it stops me dead in my tracks after a few yards. I discovered that pushing a shopping cart (Walmart & grocery store) seemed to alleviate most of this and I could walk for long periods of time and at a rather fast pace. Of course I am very sore all through my hips and upper thighs the next day and feel wiped out.

So...no one else here found that pushing a cart helps???
Deb,

When I had PMR, I did not have the grinding or burning sensation you describe, but I did find myself leaning on the shopping cart at the store a LOT. I felt about 30 years older than I was, and I was only 52 when the PMR hit. I never thought to get a "rollator", but then, maybe I figured I wasn't old enough to warrant one, never mind the pain. Anyway, I have been free of PMR for a little over 2 years now, after having it for 5 years.
I don't post much any more, as I don't have much to add. I miss some of the "old" folks from a couple years ago on this forum. It really helped me a lot to chat with them. Hope you all get some relief soon.

Hooray for your being free of PMR!!!!!!!!!  Tell me, was it a gradual thing or did you wake up one day and find it was just gone? However, this is astounding news!

Hmmmm...I "mistakenly" thought all people with PMR had a horrible grinding and burning sensation in the hip joints. Makes me wonder about a correct diagnosis here. Hey Deb,

I recently posted on your other rollater question, but I am going to again on this one. I do
have a lot of pain in my hips. In fact after walking the grocery store I am very tipsy as I feel I don't have the control in my hips to walk straight when they are tired (easily, too.) I do hold on to the grocery cart for assistance. Also when I lie down I get a pain very similar to sciatica in my gluteal (ok, it's in the center of my right bum cheek) and I know it is PMR because it is a mirror image of the pain I got a year ago in my biceps when I would lie down or recline in a chair. It feels like raw nerves and if I were standing I think it would drop me to my knees. I am so sorry yours occurs standing. I can't imagine it. So sorry. Best wishes for a speedy end to PMR for all of us.
