Thyroid Nodule & Lymph Node | Arthritis Information

I had an u/s about two weeks ago.  I am set to go back in 2 months. I'd had an u/s in November that showed a .8 cm nodue that was classified as possible "degenerating colloid cyst".  Now they are calling it "hyperplastic nodule" and I have to follow up in no more than 1 years time.  It has a honeycomb pattern, how cute.  I also have "small colloid cyst mid right pole"

I felt something in my neck, I thought at my thyroid, and I was worried that this nodule was growing, because I couldn't feel it before (although the doctor could).  Anyway apparently what I feel now is a lymph node.

The report says "A level III lymph node is present on the left measuring 1.2 cm in length; this contains benign characteristics and no significant central vascularity...most consistent with a reactive lymph node"

So there you go.  I guess nothing to panic about but I will have to continue to follow up.  It grosses me out to touch my neck there now.  Blech.
Oh Katie that is good news.  After all you went through to get to this stage.  Believe me they will monitor this closely.  My endo is more concerned about my thyroid nodule than I am.  Try not to palpate that lymphnode too much becuase it could become more irritated.  You will notice that it waxes and wanes over time.  Hiking_galWow- I don't even know what those words mean! Glad it's not something to panic about. Just make sure you follow up.  Best of luck!I also have had trouble with thyroid nodules I had surgery to remove my thyroid and he only removed the istamus because it is an unsual surgery they don't get to do often , 6 months later another nodulke on one the the lobes they call it Hoshamottos thyroidits. I had an ultasound biopsy done and Thank the Lord it came back beneign so we are going to leave it alone for now. I am glad about your news it is always so stressful waiting for results.   Laura
