I will listen to my doctor from now on instead of pretending to know what to do. When I reported to him that his suggestion of increasing to 6 mgs of prednisone and tramadol 3 x per day did not work he told me to go up to 10 mgs.

My shoulders had improved and then right before I got his message I though my hands / wrists were just a little better too. I did not want to go up to 10 so I stayed at 6. The next day my hands did not feel better after all so Dr. Wannabe took 8.  No change. Now I have been on 10 for 2 days and I feel great!  Kicked Tramadol to the curb. I feel better then I did right before I had to go off my MTX 9 weeks ago. Of course I was only on 2 mgs of prednisone then.
I forgot how good I can feel and still have RA. I forgot it's not supposed to hurt when you take your blankets off when you wake up in the morning. Am I completely pain free? No but this is totally tolerable.

Sometimes it's tough not to try and play doctor, so glad that Dr. Wannabe had a change of heart and that you're feeling better.

Happy Friday! Thanks ladies! Now Dr. Wannabe has to change hats.  I have that meeting at school...
My son was diagnosed with ADHD Saturday so I will be armed with questionnaires his teachers will need to fill out and send to the dr. He also has to get an EKG prior to starting meds.
I'm still concerned that the meeting is about more than just disrupting the class room seeing as the "guest list" includes the Vice Principal and Disciplinarian besides the teacher. She never returned an answer when I asked her if it were more serious then that. The good news is my husband shocked the crap out of me and asked me if I'm picking him up for the meeting as I was leaving for work. He never gets involved- it's always my job. I will feel so much better having him at my side. He thinks quick on his feet where I am the type that needs to digest what has been said and analyze before I want to give an answer.
Wish me luck!
Wtb,

I am so glad for you Waddie. I completely understand what you mean about how you forgot how it was to feel good. I am there. I am going to fill my script for prednisone. I want to feel good also.
