Just got back my latest bloodwork from the RD (they mail you a copy)  Everything is normal and now I get to go to every three months instead of every two

Rituxan is working wonderfully for me.  Now that I'm in remission and it seems to be holding up quite well, I think I need to consider having some of the surgeries that I've been putting off.  Not an easy thing for me for many reasons, but I guess I'll start with the shoulder.  Wish me luck.......I'll be seeing the ortho next week waddie,

I have a shoulder insability issue.  So far, I've been able to treat it without surgery.   I'm not sure what I want to do yet....I have a very real fear of surgery, so it makes these kind of decisions difficult. Wonderful news Lynn!!!! May your remission go on forever! Congrats! OMG... congratulations!!!  Don't fear the surgery... you are in remission w/ RA!!  You can beat anything!!  Surgery..smurgery!

It took me years to talk  my dad into seeing a surgeon for his hip... finally he did..had the surgery... he is SO glad!!!  he can dance again!!!

good luck, Lynn!!!!
That is great news. Remission and it seems long term. I am so glad to read you have had such great success with Rituxin.

Anna

Lynn,

Great news!  You know I am on the rituxan too.  I also have very limited mobility in the shoulders. So hoping for the best possible outcome for you. And can totally relate to you about the surgery thing. but it is a piece of cake for so many.  So hopefully will be for you too.

What doctor sends you lab work?  I would love that. I requested it the last stay and was denied the lab work and told it would be in the dictation. They want me to buy it and I will but just saying having them send you the lab work is much better, I want to see the numbers too.

good luck!

Lynn,
I was recently told to wait 6 months for the next round of rituxan. can't believe that when he said  2 visits ago said I could do another rituxan this month.   It has now been 4 months since last infusion. so still wating to do the next round of rituxan for 2 more months, unless something changes.

Good luck!
Hi Lynn, super news!!!  When you're in clinical remission you hesitate to do anythings (surgery) that will disturb the remission.  I have to have my other knee replaced but I'm so enjoying CR that I don't want to stop meds for 4-6 weeks and take the chance that I'll flare.  I understand your hesitation.  LindyWTG!! Great news! May it continue for a long, long, time!Congratulations Lynn!  It's nice to wake up and read some good news.

Good for you Lynn, but I really think it's the Vitamin D thats doing it.............wink,winkLynne
you don't want to put off the surgery too long..despite the remission the secondary OA damage will continue and the worse condition of the joint the harder the rehab esp in the shoulders
Great news, Lynn..hope it continues for you! Thanks everybody!   I've been in remission since July and I'm feeling good.

I just want people to know that even when you have had RA for a long time, remission is possible!  It took me almost 8 years to get here and I've experienced some damage along the way, but life is good  Take care.  To all the newly diagnosed: Don't settle for just feeling better, seek clinical remission.  That should be your goal.  Damage doesn't stop till you're in clinical remission.  Lindy

Lynn.....Congratulations!  I know it's a great feeling to feel free of RA.  I can't say that I share that feeling with you now...buy I have had many remission years in the past.  It's encouraging to all  of us to hear the Rituxin is working so well for you.  Do you take any of the DMARD's with it?

Regarding the surgery.....maybe you should give yourself a little  more time to enjoy just feeling well!  If you decide to  go ahead now, I wish you the very best outcome!
Great news Lynn.  Good Luck at the ortho's appointment.  HGGreat news Lynn! I also need a new joint or two, but I don't want to go off my meds for that long. Maybe we should start a club?
That's some wonderful news!! Good luck on the surgeries as well! [/QUOTE]

I am Jealous!
