Low BP | Arthritis Information

So I saw my RD today. The nurse was taking my blood pressure and the first time it came out as 84/58. I looked at her and said, "well, that can't be right." So she took it again and it came out as 86/60 (pulse 100bpm). I asked her if maybe I should be unconscious? Or dying? She said no. I asked my RD and she said as long as I didn't feel dizzy when I stood up it probably wasn't an issue.

I know Joonie had some issues with her BP being all over the place. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced blood pressure being this low.

We also discussed me starting Orencia. I have a form to fill out and a call to make to see about their assistance program. Our insurance coverage for infusions is 70/30 so there's no way I'll be getting the med if someone else doesn't help out.
Sounds like a good blood pressure to me. As she said, as long as you're not dizzy or fainting, it's OK.  Mine is frequently just shy of 100/60, with a pulse of around 60 or so. My bp has been as low as 80/50. I went to the ER once with a bladder infection (I know... lame....but I could not wait for monday!) and they started prepping me for emergency surgery..thinking I was bleeding internally because of the low bp.
Mine usually is around 90/70.. but it can also be as high as 110/80.. I've never had any issues related to low bp. Its just the way I am
Good luck with the Orencia! O Yes You Can!! That's odd when I was at the RD the other day mine was really low as well. Actually she did it three times before she actually got a bp that she said registered. I commented to the nurse about it because I do take meds for high blood pressure. Can the various meds we take make the pressure run low. I have never had a low bp like this before. Thinking about it there have been a couple of occasions over the past month or so when I have felt dizzy but since it went away I just brushed it off.

Edited for spelling errors mom2threeinaz2009-02-24 16:31:14I was wondering if maybe it was the drugs, too. Maybe it's just RA-related? My BP is usually a little higher, 100/70 or somewhere close to that, so I thought it was odd. I do feel lightheaded and dizzy when I first take my meds, but it usually goes away. When I went to my appt this morning it had been about 1hr 1/2 since I took them. Who knows! Thank you so much for all your responses. I'm curious if we all have the same thing now.

I guess if you guys hear a loud thud on this end send someone to check on me! Not to worry -- mine always used to be around there -- but pred fixed that!

Many times when I was giving blood, they'd have me do a fast walk around the building a couple times to get it b/p up to 100/ whatever......
I guess if you guys hear a loud thud on this end send someone to check on me!
I may be closest geographically, so I'll listen for ya! That seems incredibly low to me but sounds reassuring that so many others have such low BP.
