Cimetidine quickly cures my gout | Arthritis Information

A couple of years ago I had a very painful and stubborn case of gout in my right big toe.  I was treated by a doctor with pain killers, but did not take allopurinol due to the many side effects that are possible.

I was once treated for gerd (heartburn) with cimetidine, and in my own research discovered that heartburn is a histaminic reaction to hydrocholoric acid.  I figured that maybe gout is a histaminic reaction to uric acid, and that if cimetidine neturalized hydrochloric acid, it might do the same to uric acid.  I tried it, and guess what, it worked!.  Within three days the gout was gone.  Since then I have had some mild attacks of gout, but if I begin a cimetidine regimine (200 mg twice a day), the gout goes away before it reaches disabling proportions.

No prescription is needed, and you can find cimetidine in the antacid department of any drug store.  It is also sold under the brand name, Tagamet; however, it is much cheaper under its generic name and it works just as well for me.

I am not connected with the medical profession and I know that what works for one may not work for everyone.  However, it should be harmless to anyone to try cimetidine, a popular antacid.  It required a prescription until about fifteen years ago, but no longer.

I posted about cimetidine as a treatment for gout on another forum a few months ago, but apparently it didn't go through.  I think that this information might save a lot of suffering to a lot of people.
I should add that at least one doctor attributed gout attacks to the use of cimetidine and ranitidine. One should probably confer iwht a doctor before attempting cimetidine as a cure for gout.  See:
