OT Sunlight therapy | Arthritis Information

I saw an ad for sunlight therapy that helps fight seasonal affective disorder.  Helps alleviate:  tiredness, depression, low energy, sleep disorder, weight gain.  It uses specific spectrum Blue Light therapy to rebalance your melatonin and serotonin levels, tricking your mind into believing it is still summer.  Use it for 30-60 minutes a day and adjust the light intensity.

Several friends use sunlight therapy for low energy and find it helpful.  I am very light sensitive and will probably try something like this.  I always perk up when the sun comes out. This might help.

The one I mentioned is .  Yours is 0 or so our money but you can just buy light bulbs that reproduce sunlight I think.
Is it kind of like tanning bed bulbs?Thank you so much for posting that!  I think I have SAD and lexapro works well for me but it makes me tired and I don't want another pill to take.  I am so excited about spring but may look into this for next year.  Thanks! My friend who had stage 4 cancer suffered from terrible fatigue during the winter months, especially after the sun went down. She bought several sunlight lamps and swore by them. There are a number of different models out there in the price range. Jan.Things here are more expensive than in the USA .I bought a Ninetendo DS from the ninetento shop in manhatten, It cost me 9 at the the time was £60 . If i had bought the same thing here it would have cost me £140.

Yes, things are more expensive there.  That's why alot of Brits come to the U.S. to shop!

I saw an ad for a sunlight therapy lamp .  Will post the info later.
I found a desklamp version on Ebay for .99 - if it's the same thing you guys are talking about. Here's the link if anyone is interested: http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Sunlight-Desk-Lamp-26-inches-Light-Therapy_W0QQitemZ180332069071QQcmdZViewItem
It'd be great for someone who's stuck in the office all day with no windows! I'm guessing replacement bulbs aren't cheap though.

Hi, Jan, these light therapy lamps for SAD look great.

Do you or anyone else know much about them? I don't have SAD, but summer makes me much happier than this rain (although we need it for water supply).

--is it the same thing as my Ott light for sewing? (it makes fabric colors look as if outdoors)

--will it help with my low vit D like the actual sun? (if I would just spend time outside)

--does it darken skin color like a tan? (when young, it made me appear much healthier than I was)

--is it safe to use after having skin cancer twice? (I'll ask my dermatologist next month)

Many years ago, I read an article on this and they said the pink "grow lights" used in indoor gardening would work. May be a cheaper alternative....

I found a Bell and Howell Desk Lamp for .98 which looks good, full-spectrum bulb.
