From Dr. RW's blog......

"According to this review in Archives of Internal Medicine the test, although highly specific for rheumatoid arthritis, has only limited clinical application. Why? Because rheumatoid arthritis is primarily a clinical diagnosis."

I wasn't able to read the review he is referencing, but maybe there will be more elsewhere later.

Suzanne-

Do you know what anti-CCP testing is?  I have had CCP results but no anti-CCP.

I think it is the same?  We were told the anti-CCP was more specific than RF.  Either way, my daughter was negative.  (I know neg. RF for children is normal, but I don't know if the same is true for CCP)

CCP is used for diagnosis with "older" patients.
