Yikes - here in Chicagoland it's been raining for 2 days straight.  We have a small stream running through our basement*, and several streets and intersections in town have standing water.  Everything that's not paved has turned into mud.  The boys and I haven't left the house since Friday.  The husband had to go to work today, and I also gave him the grocery list.  I can't keep all that fun to myself!!! [QUOTE=SnowOwl]I love your new avatar, at least I think it's new, is it one of your kitties? Too funny Jas. Are all your kitties named for their various sizes? I'm picturing a PlumpCat? SvelteCat? RotundCat?
We also have been known to name our animals after their various traits... We had a Lefty, Stumpy,Slim and Doggy. My Auntie names all her kitties after vacuum cleaners...Hover, Dyson, Dirt Devil, and the very retro Kirby.
Good luck with the rain and your new indoor pool! [QUOTE=leila]Too funny Jas. Are all your kitties named for their various sizes? I'm picturing a PlumpCat? SvelteCat? RotundCat?

Good luck with the rain and your new indoor pool! Haha.. Too funny! My oldest daughter was also very literal. We had "Avacado Grandma" because of her pear shaped body and her fondness for wearing black! The boys used to have a small fiddler crab in a fishtank in their room.  His name?  Mr. Pinch.
The kids wanted to name our newest bird with an asian name to honor their (the kids..not the bird) heritage. And so the bird was named.....Bird WaOh Wait!! I almost forgot my family's crowning achievement in pet names..
Our 2 red-eared slider turtles. The boy is named Sal, the girl is named Monella. If you put them together you have, that's right, Salmonella.
I have teenagers...their sense of humor is twisted at best  I used to live up and Highwood, and boy do I remember the rains!

Right now we have a small swamp in the back yard, anout 6 inches deep  20 X20.. theres water in the cellar.. (135 year old house..it at least has a concrete floor, many of the old houses here  still have DIRT floors!!)  and theres a line of forest creatures standing knee deep waiting to board!

Our cat thinks were nuts because we toss her out onto the porch at least once a day... shes doing a lot of hanging out in the cellar rafters  too.

Your rain just keeps coming this way..
Much rain in lower Michigan too yesterday. I have two outdoor cats, the female (Rain is actually her name) was here first and bitterly resents young Roman, the male. She lurks by the cat door into the garage, and jumps him when he tries to go in. He is so humble and cringing, though twice her size.

Yesterday when it was pouring down, my husband looked out and saw Roman curled up in the corner of the entryway, trying to stay dry. He went out there and carried him into the garage, safely past the Monster, and put him on a chair with a pillow, one of three cat beds in there. Roman was so relieved to be in and started purring and kneading. Once he's inside she'll leave him alone.

We are going to rearrange the garage so Rain can't wait in comfort to scratch his nose when he sticks it through the cat door.
