Ok, I know this is gross, but I have had three cold sores since I have been DX. They are not huge, but they do bother me.Do you think it might be stress? I will ask my doctor of course, but I am curious if anyone has problems with this. I hate them. At this rate I should think about stock in abreva.

I get frequent cold sores. I used to use abreva as well. Now I take famiciclovir and that stops (if you take them as soon as u think a cold sore is starting...as soon as u feel that itch/tingling) them from even starting. I wish I had known about this sooner.
Ask your doctor about it.
As a teenager I suffered from the ubiquitous cold sores and my father told me it was because I did not break the fast of the night with a large glass of water. Whether or not his folk wisdom has meaning, I do so religiously and have a bottle of antivirals on hand
just in case.

I'm not sure, but I think Lupus patients get that a lot, whether from meds or the auto-immune disease, I don't know.

When I was on MTX I got a cold sore in my nose after every other shot. It was awful! When I discontinued MTX, it stopped. Immunity definitely has something to do with it....good luckHave had them, since I was a kid.
As soon, as you start feeling more stressed, / sick or that tingle..
Take LYSINE!!.. check for it in the vitimin aisle.. I swear by this!
Its better if you can take it, before the tingle, lol..
Whenever i start stressing, I know to start taking Lysine..
also use something to dry out your lips.. and then put neosporin on them..
