Ok, so here's my trauma/drama story of the day:

I went to my RD's office to get a cortisone injection in my wrist because it's been a pain. Immediately after the injection, I felt like I was going to puke, got sweaty and clammy, experienced tunnel vision and apparently turned green!

Hope you are all having a superfantastic and extra-comfortable evening! . this is something that "runs in my family"

My sister has this problem every time she feels the need to puke... she faints.. hits the ground and wakes immediately.....

My Middle son has had two episodes and that's what the doc called them after the cardiologist tested him out.......

my Ex also has issues w/ the vasovagal nerve and fainting..... great big guys my son and my ex.. LMAO!!

Once the nurse at the PCP had to call me cause ex fainted after giving blood for a test.. she said it's always the big guys

It is said that if you hit the ground.. go flat... it allows things to get back to normal and makes the nerve quiet.....   remain there (only for a little while) and get up slowly.....

glad you're okay, Mel!!
Don't be embarrassed- I felt like fainting just hearing about the procedures you & La had done.
Sometimes I feel like that when I hit my kneecap really hard by accident.
My son actually had that happened to him in succession 3 times and he was just training for a new job. (BTW finally had the EKG and a heart ultra sound last week and he is A- OK)
After all that I hope the shot gave you relief!!!!
wantto.. it happened to middle son the same way.. he was standing.. he went down.. he sat up and then got right up.. and went down again..they put him in a chair.. and one more time... he stayed down that time for a few minutes
The wrist actually aches now so I've put an ice-pack on it. I'm not supposed to lift anything heavy for 24hrs and limit using it for a couple of days after. Taking care of baby boy tomorrow while hubby is at work will definitely be interesting. One-handed typing isn't loads of fun either!

And I've got great news!! My superhero husband

CoMel, boy, do I understand your response to the injection.  I did that in my RD's office when he injected my knee.  Fortunately I was laying down.  My system was overloaded with too many medical procedures in to short of a time.  After what you went through that shot better work for you.  Take care.  Lindygood luck on the shot, Mel..... and you got a good man there..
enjoy tomorrow.!!
take it easy, Mel and let you wonderful hubby handle everything. That's what men like to do is be in charge. LOL I hope the wrist gets better soon.Don't feel bad Mel, the same thing happened to me the 2nd or 3rd time I had my knees injected. I think I hadn't had enough to eat and I was worried a out being late to pick up my kids from school. I made it all the way to my car, but then I had to just lay there with the seat back for awhile. I was very thankful I didn't hurl in the parking lot!Well I have never heard of that one. Thanks for letting us know. Sorry you had this awful experience. Hopfully you are also going to get some good benifits from the medicine as well.
