Testing for NF may include a number of tests common to the immune-mediate arthritis family, such as the RF [Rheumatoid Factor], ANA [lupus], ESR, etc. That these tests are used would seem to indicate that there are some very similar features of the disease. I am not sure what the chromosomal link is, though a good geneticist would certainly be able to. You might try registering at www.rafriends.com and posting your question there, since they have a much larger membership and you would more likely find someone with more knowledge on this subject at that site. Also, indicate whether the NF is Type I or Type II. Good luck! Lee
