OT: I want another one | Arthritis Information

So... I need ideas on how to talk hubby into letting me have another cat.

He told me no again. He said Abbi-Kitty was enough. I do not think she is. I want another kitten!

I tried the same way I talked him into Abbi-Kitty, but he said it was not going to work this time around.

I was talking to him last night about some of my concerns and all, and he thought I was butterring him up for another kitten! So... maybe that is the way to go. I was just telling him how I felt old and how I was fixing to be 30 and how "misrable" I have been the last few weeks. It was all RA talk.

I just thought it was weird that he thought I was telling him all of that to get a cat

Grant it she did come out when I told son to let her out, but... I think that was because we were outside as well.

She never makes a run for the door or anything. Even when she is in heat.

No, I have to save up some money to get her fixed. We have no place around here that will fix her for free.

I am not really sure she is in heat, though. I keep saying she is, but I am not for sure. I just know she sleeps alot more, she rubs and rolls around on the floor and against people more, and every once in a while she will meow walking thru the house. Other than that she seems like herself. But for some reason my daughter keeps thinking she is sick.

But Abbi-Kitty is just a little over a year old.

I want to get another kitty so Abbi-Kitty will have some companionship other than us humans. Because I still think she thinks she is human. And she just seems like she is lonely.

My son is visiting with his cat and I love her! My cat had been walking around meowing too much in the middle of the night. Now that she does not want the other kitty to know where she is she keeps her mouth shut! :)You could adopt one that is an adult, and already spayed.  That was no spay or shot costs.

Cats lower blood pressure.  I think you should try that on your husband. :)  They adjust the chi in the house.
But, if you got a dog, there is less vacuuming.  That is why I will always have a dog.

Lowers blood pressure huh? Nice! Joonie,

Honey, you are having such issues right now and having trouble even cleaning the house, why would you even think about adding another cat?  I agree with getting abi-kitty spayed and then getting you medically better, then bringing in another cat!
Phats
Hi joonie,
I agree with Phats. You seem to have a lot on your plate. Take care of yourself and yours first.

HI  joonie,  first, i think its great that you want another cat.
Even if they're not best pals, they amuse each other, good company.
BUT...

saying that < I have to strongly agree w/ Shugs/ Phatz, etc.. you have to get abbi
fixed ASAP.. being in heat, is NOT fun for your cat!! Plus she CAN  get out... if that happened.. .. more unwanted cats happen.. and die needlessly.. its sad.. I've volunteered in a shelter, and millons of cats are put to sleep each year.

So fix abbi, look around for programs that will help. I also have to agree too, why not adopt an older cat? Kittens have sooo much energy and if you're having trouble getting around, good chance you can fall.. I'm usually really optomistic, (ok i just think older cats, deserve a chance too, at having a good home

Also save some $$, for pet emergencys.. before you get another cat.. thats hard..
Cats tho are the best!!JOONIE.. go here:

It's a very inexpensive way to get your kitten neutered......  I've used it several times.. check out the list, find a nearby vet and call them to verify they will spay your baby..
Good luck!!

I have to have at least two of everything.....  I have two cats.... four dogs (okay, two males and two females

nothing like a kitten all curled up in your lap purring.......  definitely good medicine.

KatieG had an excellent idea of adopting a full grown "In need of a forever home" cat already neutered for your next pet......
