I swear IDK what in the world is going on... I have a weird craving for bologna... I DO NOT EVEN EAT PROCESSED MEAT!!!   I mean, really, 1am and I want bologna... now I have Oscar Meyer song too... My bologna has a first name, its O_S_C_A_R_... Go buy yourself a couple slices and put that craving to bed. It's the only thing to do.... Bologna.  Now that brings back memories. When we were kids we used to make what we called bologna steaks. Best thing in the world at least, not so long ago when I was a kid. We'd pull the red lining off the outer edge, cut slit halfway to the middle and fry those babies up.  I can't remember why I stopped eating it or what but I haven't eaten bologna since then. mortadella.. never heard of it.

I hope you just broke down and bought some!!
babs102009-03-20 06:37:14I bought bologna this week but I didn't eat any. Last time I craved it I ate it and the garlic gave me indigestion.

Mortedella is good if you can get over the fact that those white spots are hunks of fat.....
Oh, a southern favorite - fried bologna sandwiches on white bread with Miracle Whip!  I never eat Miracle Whip with anything else, but I need it for a fried bologna sandwich.  We call bologna Hillbilly Steak!   Or Tube Steak!    .....[/QUOTE]

same here with my first husband

I do mustard as well.. tastes like a hot dog......

now.........

I want a HOT DOG!@#$%&^$&*%&$(#$)#!!!!!
Bologna and mustard......I ate it everyday when I was a kid!!  It was my fave.  No... I didn't give in...   I was raised so far out in the boondocks that we had baloney, not bologna;white bread was only found at my city Grandmother's house, and I was a teenager before I saw mustard in a container from the store.

However, now that you Waddie have planted the idea in my head I will make a quick stop at the Italian deli on my way home this evening and buy a half pound of bologna and a half pound of mortadella and a pound of formaggio acidino for sandwiches over the weekend. Babs- Hebrew National 95% fat free hotdogs are only 50 calories and are very tasty- if that's what's bothering you about eating a hot dog Oh Shug, IDK if you should thank me or not!  Cravings are crazy.  I have been craving fries, cheeseburgers, and pan pizza since this jaw thing began...

Other wierd craving I get is for Long John Silvers.  Usually just the smell of the grease makes my stomach turn.  But, when the craving hits....watch out!!!
My last craving was for a filet o fish sandwich from McDonald's. Have you seen the commercial with the singing fish on the wall? My husband gets a real kick out of it and sings along- then it got stuck in my head- then I had to have one.
As of Wednesday- cross that off my list- yummy it was slathered with tarter sauce!
we buy Hatfield Hot dogs.  Its not a huge name like oscar  but its  the lowest sodium hot dog I've found.. its firm, has a nice bite to it.

about once a month we have a hot dog supper. hot dogs, buns, krut,  sliced onions and tomatoes for those who like and my own special pork and beans.. omg  they are good.  and usually a lipton noodle side dish..

Its looking like its about that time.
 yummmmmmmmmm

I just read this whole thread and I want to scream because now I want a baloney sandwich..........Ms. Anti-Inflammation Diet wants a baloney sandwich so bad and it's all your fault.  Baloney, potato chip, mustard, white bread sammich.  My childhood staple.  You have to put the chips on the sandwich.

When we get back to the states I want Mexican food......I know I just spent 6 months in Mexico but I want TexMexBorder Mexican food.   The Mexican food here is mostly seafood, wonderful soups, posole, and fresh salsa.  I want cheese, hearty sauces, something rolled, etc.  Another 13 days till we hit Tucson.  Lindy
Lindy!  I forgot the potato chips!!!   Waddie, How could you forget the best part!!!!!?  I never met a chip I didn't like.  I can't believe the amount of salt that I consumed when I was a kid.  I try and cut back now but sometimes it's just a losing battle.  LindyI don't think I want to even bother eating if I couldn't use salt.  It's what makes food taste good.I use sea salt now and try and limit that!
