Well found out that the Humera was approved. However, my legs are still swelling up horribly and Rd is concerned about that (so am I, to be honest) and doesn't want to start me on the Humera until I have had an Echo to rule out heart problems of any kind. So I am being scheduled with Cardio for an Echo which I have never had but I am told is very simple and quick. I hope so because I need some drugs that will really work at getting this RA under control, and give me back some sort of life.
Also, I did have a big flare, at least the worst one I have had to date over the past weekend and pain meds I was using did absolutley nothing for me. So I discussed this with RD and she gave me a script for Oxcodone(sp.) Anyways my first narcotic. Yikes!! Well, as long as the pain goes away I will use it because I was really desperate over the weekend.
Thanks for listening everyone.
I'm so glad you were approved, and sorry that you have to wait! Good luck with the cardio, sounds like its best to assure everyone that Humira won't be a risk...approved.. then wait? ugh!
I'm glad you're seeing a cardiologist and having some tests. The cardiologist might suggest another test or two. It's much better to be safe and have the cardio workup. RA in itself can cause cardiac issues and the latest recommendation is for people with moderate to severe RA have a cardiac workup. Inflammation can affect the heart. My legs were swollen badly when a severe flare set in. I understand what you're going through and there's little you can do to alleviate the swelling. Do watch your salt intake and keep your feet up on a stool as much as possible. I know your doctor has already told you this. Take care and keep us posted. Lindy
Hugs Mom2 and let us know what the cardio says -mom2threeinaz
i wish you all the best and congratulations!
I wish you a speedy resolution of your problem, pain relief with your new Rx, and a swift positive outcome for your RA.
